Chapter4 Application of Microblog in Oral English Class


4.1 Feasibility Analysis
Application of microblog in oral English class is practicable because of thefollowing reasons: First of all, the mobile features of microblog platform offerflexible time and place for English learning. In case that the learners have anyquestions after class they can gain the assistance from their classmates and teachers atonce by taking advantages of mobile terminals.In the second place, under this environment, the student can have some debates,discussions, or comment on a certain question with the help and supervision. Thus,acolossal netted learning community is built up to figure out problems with highefficiency.Thirdly, one-to-one messaging function of microblog platform impedes the junkemails and blindness of posting. Thus, students and teachers are mere combinedtightly through transmitting immediate messages to each other.Fourthly, the popularity of the hardware devices such as computers, mobilephones ensures the application of microblog platform in education.Fifth, application of microblog platform conforms to the features of collegeEnglish education. College English education highlights in practice, but the traditionalteaching patterns, methods or institutions cannot live up to the request of students'extracurricular English learning.

Conclusion


This thesis explains the status quo of college student's oral English abilities; italso analyzes and summarizes the existing problems in college oral English teachingand the main forms and the causes of those problems. It does a thorough understanding and analysis of microblog,compares it with other teaching modes,introduces and summarizes the educational application of microblog and thefeasibility and advantages of applying it to the college oral English.On the basis of the microblog platform, the teaching mode that based onmicroblog is proposed .This paper shows the process of teaching design and apply itto empirical research in order to carry out the practice teaching. This paper alsoanalyzes the effectiveness of college oral English based on microblog applying toclassroom teaching, design a questionnaire survey so that teachers can make analysisof the students' interests, attitudes and the promotion of oral English skills in speakingEnglish, which can provide the beneficial Reference to the following research.
