4. The Results and Analysis of the Study


4.1 The Results and Analysis of the Experiment
In the following, we will use the SPSS16.0 to analyze the results of the experiments.The experiments include the pretest, posttest and delayed test. We will compare them fromthe vertical and horizontal point of view to analyze the statistical data to testify ourhypothesis. As we can be seen from the Table 4-1, in the pre-test, the experimental class and thecontrol class, they have an equal number of people. In the control class the average score ofpretest is 69.8000, while the experimental class is 72.4750. Only from the point of view, theaverage score of the control class is lower than the experimental class 2.675 points. Thestandard deviation in the control class is 14.91549, while in the experimental class is14.61293.Depending on these, we cannot find the significant difference in statistics, thus it also needsfurther examination and analysis.

Conclusion


We found that vocabulary size plays an important role in the exam, so that teachers inthe teaching process must pay attention to the teaching of vocabulary. The teachers shouldupdate teaching concepts, improve the traditional teaching methods. The aim of teachingvocabulary is to achieve good results. In this paper, the author describes that the vocabularyteaching guided by the category theory. The category theories focus on the combination ofold and new theoretical guidance of knowledge to teach vocabulary. For each different wordtakes different teaching methods. The category theory takes advantage of students’background knowledge to teach new words, which distinguishes from the traditionalmechanically memorizing word forms and meanings. Students learn vocabulary transitionfrom passive to active state, and can increase their vocabulary expansion capability.After a six-week teaching experiment conducted by the author. It proved that thecategory theory is really helpful for the students of non-English majors to memorize words.Even after a period of time, it still has important effect on the vocabulary teaching andlearning. The category theory plays an important role in the long run. This new kind ofvocabulary teaching can change the mechanical way to remember words in the past.
