摘要:研究教师如何干预大学英语合作学习是非常必要的。但国内对于大学英语合作学习的研究很少和教师干预联系在一起,因此本文基于合作学习的基本理论、发展理论、建构主义理论和社会相互依存理论。

t cooperative learning can benefit all the EFL teachers. It’sa more scientific way to organize the class, get students more involved in the groupactivities, help them to build interest and confidence, and change them into activelearners. Of course, all these goals must be achieved with the help of the teacher’sinvolvement in cooperative learning. It’s important for EFL teachers to understand theconnotation of cooperative learning and implement useful and suitable involvement incooperative learning.

 

1.2 Purpose of This Research研究目的
中国的大学英语教学是迄今为止不满足,所以教师应当进行伟大的创新改变他们的角色以及提高课堂气氛,激发学生的兴趣,并为学生提供社会技能。College English teaching in China is so far dissatisfactory, so teachers shouldcarry out great innovations to change their roles as well as improve class atmosphere,arouse students’ interest, and provide students with social skills.A lot of researches have proved the prominent effectiveness of cooperativelearning in college English. Therefore, cooperative learning is a beneficial attempt toimprove the current situation of English teaching in college.However, there are not enough researches that investigate the relation betweenteachers’ involvement and cooperative learning. In English teaching, cooperativelearning begins to be implemented initially but not widely used. Many teachers whouse the strategy confront problems in practice because of less experience andconsistently playing the dominant role in teaching. Cooperative learning emphasizesthe interaction between students and teachers’ involvement as well. It’s high time forteachers to change their roles and take part in learners’ cooperative learning activitiesto provide necessary assistance.In light of this situation, the research on the effectiveness of teachers’ involvementin cooperative learning of college English is worthy undertaking. The research not onlyproves the effectiveness of teachers’ involvement in cooperative learning of collegeEnglish, but also finds out the factors influencing effectiveness of teachers’involvement. As long as teachers realize the factors, they can adopt these suggestionsand further implement in pedagogical practice so as to strengthen the effectiveness ofteachers’ involvement in cooperative learning of college English.

 

1.3 Significance of This Research研究意义
This research mainly emphasizes on teacher’s involvement when we applycooperative learning to college English teaching. The significance of it lies in threeaspects.First, it can better achieve the goal of the latest revised College EnglishCurriculum Requirement. At the beginning of cooperative learning class, teachersalways provide learning strategies and interpersonal skills. Not only do teachersdevelop students’ basic learning skills—listening, speaking, reading and writing, butalso foster students’ communicative skills to meet the needs of the international world.Second, it can help students to reduce anxiety, enhance self-confidence andenhance motivation. Most of all, it leads to improve students’ academic achievement inlarge scale. Interest is the best teacher.
