Conclusion


The purpose of the study is to get the general language learning beliefs of the students inSETC. Because of limited time and money, only four classes of students are involved.Further studies on students' language learning beliefs in SETC should contain more subjectsto get more accurate conclusions. And this study reveals some common language learningbeliefs held by higher vocational college students, but the subjects limit to SETC. In order toget the general pictures of language learning beliefs held by higher vocational collegestudents, more studies should be carried out in other higher vocational colleges besidesSETC.Since freshmen and sophomores have shown some significant differences in languagelearning, further study may be conducted to find out whether there are some factors existingin college which influence students' language learning beliefs. After that, teachers can avoidthose negative factors and enhance positive ones.
The study of this dissertation is static, so the changes of students' language learningbeliefs over time are not accessed. Thus, further studies can observe changes of students’language learning beliefs over time and, furthermore, can study intervening measurementson forming positive language learning beliefs over time.The instruments of this study mainly depend 011 the questionnaire and interview. Becauseof the limitations of questionnaire and interview, for further studies, more instruments can beapplied to investigate students' language learning beliefs such as diaries, observations, casestudies, life stories, metaphor analysis and self report.The present study focuses on the overall language learning beliefs held by the students.For further studies, more can conduct to find out specific language learning beliefs held bythe students in terms of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Since the specific languagelearning beliefs are found, teacher can take different measures to help students' developpositive language learning beliefs in different language learning skills.
