摘要:Students majoring in arts are a special group. There do exist many problems in theirEnglish study. While students' affective variables play an essential role, English classroomlearning anxiety, a complex and multidimensional phenomenon,is generally harmful to artstudents' English learning.

ability andvalidity in this survey. First of all,although more students are involved in the research,allthe subjects are selected from one Art College — Nanjing Art College. They can't representthe present situation of all art college students. Conditions permitting, a large-scaleexperiment can be conducted to gain more valid statistics.Second, the reliability of self-reported techniques is always an inherent challenge incarrying out such a research. Although it is emphasized that the subjects should answer allquestions truthfully and completely,their answers may be some what different from theiractual responses in a given situation.Third, the study touches little on the differences between art students. Englishclassroom learning anxiety and other majors' English Classroom learning anxiety. Furtherdetailed and systematic comparison between them is supposed to carry out in order toobtain more scientific ideas favorable to art students' English classroom learning anxietyand teaching behavior.Last,the study only focuses on the static description of English classroom learninganxiety, among art students, without a record of their anxiety changes and tendency. Thesubsequent researches may note down the changes and analyze what better methods thereare to help art students improve their English level efficiently.
