V Principles and Strategies


5.1 The cultivation of affective factors of the students toimprove their English learning.
During the class, teachers should carefully set the scene to give students pleasantemotional experience. Enable students to acquire knowledge in a relaxed learningatmosphere, and improve the ability to keep making progress toward the goal. Teachersshould consider teaching content during teachers can also organize extra –curricularactivities to active students’ boy and mind, stimulate students’ interests and curiosity. Class lead in is more an art than science. The main aim of leading is to activate theknowledge relating to the class by the help of appropriate materials and methods. It willform a psychological preparation in students’ mind, with the necessary language,vocabulary, social background and so on. According to the flexible teaching materials, wecan design colorful classroom leading forms, which can stimulate the interest of students tolearn a new lesson. When teach an argumentative text, the teacher can use the discussionmethods in class.

Conclusion


This paper mainly concerns the influence of non-intellectual factors on secondaryvocational middle school students’ English learning. There are several findings.First, vocational school students’ non-intellectual factors developments are the vitalreasons which results in their English failure.Second, vocational school English teachers should pay more attention to concern thestudents’ learning motivation, interest, self-confidence, will and other internal factorsinstead of complaining the bad performance of the students, while the teachers shouldactively change traditional teaching style.Third, it has been a hard job to change the family environmental factors of secondaryvocational school students, such as their parents’ education background, job, salary, and soon , but teachers can keep contact with students’ parents constantly, reporting theirchildren’ s progress, require them care and praise their children more in daily life , helpingtheir children set confidence. All these need us constant efforts and attempts.Focusing on the three basic and most important aspects of learner, teacher, andenvironment in language learning and teaching process, several principles and strategiesare put forward as an attempt to stimulate learners’ learning motivation and improve theirlearning efficiency.
