摘要:本文是小学英语论文,本研究拟探讨Bouyei语言对英语的愿望的跨语言影响和讨论的关系的三种语言的意义,即Bouyei的语言,汉语和英语称为布依族学生。

Chapter 1 Introduction

1.1 Background of the study
As a multi-ethnic country, China’s most minorities live in mixed communities.here are at least 50 bilingual or multilingual communities. More commonly,bilingualism is of Chinese and a minority language. Guizhou, Yunnan and Sichuanprovinces are the main dwelling areas for Bouyei minority, and Guizhou province hasthe largest population of more than two million Bouyei people. In the Bouyei minority,most Bouyei people are bilingual of Bouyei and Chinese, because Bouyei languagebelongs to Thai branch of the Zhuang-Dong language family. Its characteristics anddialect are almost the same with other language of this language family. At present,researchers have done many studies of Bouyei language. And by collecting therelative literature and data, the former studies can be summarized as follows.In Bouyei language, the most dominant characteristic is its one-syllable word,whose is composed of initials, finals and tones. Bouyei language has 32 initials, 77finals and 8 tones. Among them, there are six long tones whose syllables end with anasal or a vowel sound, and the other two tones are with syllables ending withplosives.In A Foundation Course of Bouyei language, Wang & Zhou (2005) haveintroduced basic knowledge of the speech in details (See Table 1.1). Take the speechat Fuxing Town of Wangmo as a basis, this tutorial provides Bouyei language learnersa new phonetic standard. This book is also helpful for improving Bouyei languageteaching. In this book, the initial system has been elaborated, which offers a Referenceof Bouyei students’ aspiration pronunciation, and furthermore lays a good foundationfor the author’s exploration on the cross-linguistic influence of their L1 on their L3(English) learning. Wang & Zhou considered that there are 32 initials in Bouyeilanguage, and the place and manner of articulation of Bouyei initials are shown in thefollowing.

1.2 Objectives and significance of the study
This study deals with cross-linguistic influence and especially focuses on the acquisition of English aspirations in Bouyei students’ third language acquisition(TLA). And in recent years, L3 acquisition research has experienced importantdevelopments. The main areas of researchers’ investigation contain the effect ofdifferent factors such as language distance, recency of use, L2 status, L1 and L2proficiency which are all crucial in the cross-linguistic influence in TLA. Based onthose investigations, this study conducted an empirical study on the cross-linguisticinfluence in the acquisition of English aspirations of Bouyei Senior high Englishstudents, in order to get a clear idea about the common problems in Bouyei students’aspiration acquisition and explore the relationship between the three languages ofBouyei students, and further analyze the potential factors, like language typology,psychotypology, recency of use, L1 and L2 proficiency that may influence thecross-linguistic influence in TLA.Studies on the cross-linguistic influence in Bouyei students’ acquisition ofEnglish aspirations are few till now, this study is trying to make some contributions tothis blankness. It is believed that the research and its findings are significant boththeoretically and practically.
