摘要:本文是一篇英语毕业论文,文章主要研究网络环境下非英语班大学生自主英语学习研究。Generally speaking, the traditional college English classroom teaching is based on teachers' teaching. The present form in the actual teaching is language presentation,blackboard writing and display of the figure and manner.
1 Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Autonomous learning is an active and initiative learning process in an idealautonomous language learning environment, and learners use a variety of learningresources, determine the learning objectives independently or under teacher's guidance,choose learning methods and contents, monitor the learning process and evaluate thelearning effect. In recent years, with the development of the network technology and thedeepening of the international communication, social and personal demands for languageskills are different from each other. Only depending on the textbook language input andpractice is not enough for students to really master a foreign language, and can't meet thedifferent needs of society and individuals, either. As a result, students must learn to acceptmore language input after class and find more opportunities for language using.High-technology, especially the rapid development and widely application of the computertechnology and information network provide favorable conditions for students’autonomous learning. “Requirements of College English Curriculum” makes it clear “toenhance students’ autonomous learning ability” as one of the targets of college Englishteaching, advocating that “the new teaching mode should be supported by the moderneducation technology, especially network technology, and make the English teachingunlimited by time and place”. (Requirements of College English Curriculum, 2007). Thisstep aims to guide and require students gradually to change their learning mode from thetraditional “passive” mode to new “active” mode. Under this background, the moderneducators and university students need to work together to use the Internet tools skillfully,grasp the corresponding learning strategies and overcome the challenges and difficultiesbrought about by the new learning mode to achieve effective autonomous learning underthe network environment.

1.2 Significance of the Study
Generally speaking, the traditional college English classroom teaching is based onteachers' teaching. The present form in the actual teaching is language presentation,blackboard writing and display of the figure and manner. This traditional college Englishteaching process has a certain degree of closure, and it is difficult for students to developtheir learning enthusiasm, initiative and creativity, and to a large extent, restrict theexertion of students’ personality. However, under the network environment, collegestudents’ English learning patterns, learning methods, and teachers’ concepts will produce.. great changes. And there is no doubt that these changes have brought new opportunitiesand challenges to the university foreign language teaching. The network environment,with rich teaching resources, reticular information presentation and openness of time andspace, provides ideal conditions for creating the students' autonomous learningenvironment, which makes the autonomous learning supported by the computer becomeone of the main forms of university teaching. First of all, abundant network resources areimportant knowledge sources for college students’ autonomous learning. Under thenetwork environment, broad reading scope and infinite reading materials providecomprehensive, multi-level, multi-angle and illustrated literatures in the process oflearning.
