2.2 Related Study of Thematic Progression At Home
Many intensive empirical studies in the field of thematic progression from different aspects, such as the analysis of text, language teaching, English and Chinese translation, etc., are taken by the scholars in ChiProgression in Textual Analysis written by Zhu Yongsheng was published. Three main functions of the thematic progression patterns in analyzing the text were proposed by him: firstly, the clue of topical development in single text are discussed, and for the different parts of text, he thinks there exists the interrelationship of the semantic and logical meaning; secondly, he finds out the similarities of choosing thematic progression existing in the texts of the same genre; thirdly, he shows how the application of thematic progression patterns influenced by the genres. Then in 2001, the organizing methods of the texts which is mainly from the aspect of communicative dynamism was explained by Yang Cuicui. A further research is also made to study the dialectical relation which is between the textual coherence and the thematic progression. In her opinion, the essence of textual coherence can be revealed by the study of thematic progression, or the information flow would be cut off and the failure of communication would be leaded to. There is no doubt that a new angle of view for studying the thematic progression in textual analysis is provided in her research.
