he  affective  tag  question  have  been discussed.  We  have  already  known  that  the  confirmative  tag  question  is used  to  eliminate  the  doubt  through  asking  for  responses  made  by  the hearer,  and  that  the  affective  tag  question  is  used  to  release  emotions produced  from  inappropriate  actions  of  the  hearer.  Then,  what  are  the similarities and differences between the two types?   
5.1 Similarities Between the Confirmative Tag Question and the Affective Tag Question 
When  studied  by  scholars,  the  research  object  is  proved  to  be practical in use, with a relation to our life. The confirmative tag question and  the  affective  tag  question,  as  common  sentence  patterns  in  oral English, are analyzed in order to use it properly in language environment. Before teachers’ teaching and students’ learning, we have to make it clear what are the similarities between them and how the two tag questions can be  compared  together.  On  the  whole,  both  of  them  act  as  an autonomy-dependence alignment, in which plenty of identical points exist. The  alignment  is  made  up  of  two  elements,  namely,  the  autonomous declarative  sentence  and  the  dependent  tag.  They  are  united  together  to bring  out  a  composite  structure  with  new  semantic  meanings  appearing.

Despite the work, the findings and the significance, this thesis has its own limitations. First, for lack of knowledge and reference materials, the study  in  the  thesis  has  not  reached  the  breadth  and  depth  as  expected, especially  the  study  of  the  generation  in  meaning  and  form.  Second,  for lack  of  time  and  space,  the  thesis  has  not  made  any  mention  of  the invariant  tag  question,  which  is  also  regarded  as  one  subcategory  of  the tag question in English at home and abroad. These limitations point to the fact  that  this  thesis  is  far  from  perfect.  To  overcome  the  limitations,  we have a lot to do in our future studies.
