The data-based analysis as well as the statistic andcomprehensive description of the object determines that the thesis is quantitativeoriented. And the cognitive framework analysis is the determiner which forms themain thrust that it is qualitative oriented.

Conclusion

In this chapter, the author draws a conclusion of the whole thesis from twoaspects. The first aspect involves the significance and contributions of the thesis andthe second refers to the limitations and inadequacies in the thesis. And at the end ofthe thesis, the author gives some suggestions for the further studies.About humor, lots of scholars have done researches with different theories fromdifferent fields. Though lots of achievements have been obtained, they all take theline content of the comedy skits as static text, ignoring the dynamic and interactionalnature of conversation, which can be made up by resonance. In this thesis, the authorconstructed a new model ECM+which is integrated by the cognitive model ECM andresonance of the newly burgeoning dialogic syntax with the purpose of the findingout the cognitive mechanism of humor in comedy skits, providing a new perspectivefor the study of humor. And the major findings of the study are as follows:First, humor in comedy skits are resulted from the progressive propulsion ofsuperposition of resonances of several pairs of utterance turns. And by observing theretrieved data, those whose number of pairs of the utterance turn resonances are 3, 2,4, 1, 5 take up 82.38% of the whole data which shows that the comedy skit playerstend to choose the progressive propulsion of not more than 5 pairs of utterance turnresonances to let out the punch line and create the humorous effect.
