It is bound for her to suffer the racial and sex prejudice. The oriental woman is always a myth to the west, and her image is created as somehow called “little eastern woman”.

Kingston was influenced by Chinese traditional culture when she was a little child, and she was deeply noticed just because the moral of feudal society and patriarchal culture, the Chinese women did not have political rights and economic positions, the right to go to school is forbidden, their social position were on the low end at the feudal society. Meanwhile, the place Chinatown where Kingston lived had an idea that is girl is useless, the discrimination and insult from the white Americans, the female Chinese Americans’ social positions are lower than other nation, the female Chinese Americans’ rights of education is limited. The right of having education is the basic right of female, it can improve female’s quality, it is the prerequisite and foundation of having other rights and to improve female’s social position.
The figure of Fa Mu Lan austerities of practice when she lived in mountain, not only against and criticized the feudal tradition which deprived women’s right of education but also show Kingston’s angry to the popular idea—girl is useless in Chinatown and the discrimination from the white Americans. It present the feminism that education is the women’s undeprived right, women should have the right of education.

Kingston used vivid language to describe Fa Mu Lan and through the plot about she gave birth to a baby, we can find Fa Mu Lan’s heroic spirit, such as brave, didn’t afraid of death.
Kingston used Fa Mu Lan’s warrior behavior like killing enemy bravely, making a contribution to quarrel the Chinatown’s old popular traditional idea. By creating the brave, brawniness, self-support, self-strong, intelligence, beautiful image of woman warrior, Kingston showed one theme, that is, female’s quality and ability are the same as male’s, female’s occupation is the same as male’s, and female can do what male can do, male can make a contribution, so do female. It also showed the dream and expectation of female Chinese American: to be the woman warrior, to have a big deal. So, in her book The Woman Warrior, she showed her feminism to fight against paternity and male center theory. The feminism also inspired her to successfully have her own business, to promote Chinese American literature to gain great fame in American literature history.
3.3 Feminism in Shaman
The third part in The Woman Warrior is Shaman. It told a story about the narrator’s mother Brave Orchid’s story: her doctor experience in China, her hometown and how she caught a ghost and many strange Chinese stories told by her. Brave Orchid never want be lonely, she enjoyed her life, studied hard, pursuited her own life goal and finally she have the doctor license. Then she crossed the Pacific Ocean to America to find her husband and lived very happy life in America.
Kingston creates a woman warrior’s figure who could never be lonely, enjoies life, studies hard and constantly strives to become stronger. The image of Brave Orchid, showed if only the female work hard, enjoy life, never stop, they can earn a happiness life, and their own feminism c
