s connection of Mr. Wang for many years. Our first direct export customer is the customer of my ex-employer. It is an American company. When I quit my job, I contacted with them and told them that I started to do my own business and can provide same quality product but lower price to them. They give me the first order. Because of the good relationship we had before, they trust me. But they are not very sure. At first, they just give me the design draft. Then, our factory made the dress sample. After doing this, I try to persuade them drop me when they have business trip in China. And they did. They are pretty satisfied with the sample. Subsequently, they gave me this order and we signed contract. This is my first business.

8.      Could you describe the process of internationalization? Until 2000, this plant has focused on producing beading, machine embroidery for wedding dresses for other firms in Chaozhou area. In 2000, Mr.Wang started to produce and export wedding dresses and evening dresses via a Shanghai trade company to Japan. We just producing dresses according to their design draft. And we have not our own brand at that time. In 2006, we start to explore the international market designedly. We got self-export right. Then registered our own brand. I think that our plant have already had experience in processing evening dress.
In Chaozhou, exhibition is a very popular way to attract and find customer. But for a small company like us, it is too much cost. And besides, we still haven’t our own competitive product. So we seldom attend the exhibitions.
9.      In which countries is your company operating in today? Japan,The united states, and Canada
10.  What plans are regarding the future internationalization development? Frankly, we are not fast developed company before 2006. From then on, we started to explore the international market designedly. Firstly, we got self-export right. Then registered our own brand. I think that our plant have already had experience in processing evening dress. Next step, we plan to build up several distribution channel in domestic market. Because the Chinese firms have no any competitive advantage in this field except low cost. We hope that one day we can sell our own brand dressing in international market. But firstly, I think we should gain some brand management experience and marketing knowledge firstly in domestic market.

Recently, we are exploring the opportunities in European market. Because our product mainly target to western market. But still have no clearly plan.
11.  During the internationalization process so far, what are the results regarding enterprise overall income?  
12.  During your internationalization process, whether government (including nation, local governments such as villages and towns region and county level) in policy and operation aspect has the promotion effects? In which aspects? The government of course encourage enterprise go international through organizing some exhibitions. For small companies like us, however, we don’t feel any specific promoting or clag.
