Personal SWOT Analysis on Employability Skills

Range of general employability skills
Before the personal SWOT analysis, I searched a lot and get a good knowledge about what is employability skill. The western developed countries started the research on employability skills in the last century, the early 90s. Different terms were used about employability skills in different countries. For example, the United States called it as skill; Australia called it as key competences; United Kingdom called it as core skills; France called it as transferable competence; Germany used the term of key qualifications, etc. Till the end of the decade, the countries listed above, changed their original term into the same words ‘employability skills’.1

Employability skill is a series of work-related capacity combination but there is no uniform view about what specific skills it should contain. Under different economic environment, employability skills proposed by researchers would be different. In all, employability can be divided into two modes: the U.S. model, and the United Kingdom-Australian model. The U.S.  Model involves a collection of a wide range of capabilities, including basic skills, personal qualities, ethics and values, as well as professional skills. The United Kingdom-Australian model involves a relatively narrow set of capabilities, which excludes the personal qualities and values. Later, the United Kingdom-Australian model took personal characteristics into account.2

Through extensive literature research, I found that below four kinds of employability skills classification widely cited in previous studies:
