1.0 Executive Summary
The main purpose of this report is to make some advices on human resources management (HRM) to Savastores. The report comprises the practical issues in Savastores and the advices for the HRM resources strategy in Savastores.
Facing the increasing threat from supermarket chains like Aldi and Tesco, Savastores tries to transform their image to excellent value. Due to the practical issues in HRM, Savastores should make innovations on three different parts, which are career development of the employees; enhance the management system; strengthen the culture construction of Savastores, respectively.
2.0 Introduction
Savastores is a supermarket chain operating across the United Kingdom and established some 40 years ago. It has its head office in the North West of England,which houses all the functions you would expect to find at a large retail organization-the executive, finance, marketing, purchasing, HRM and so on.And Savastores has three regional distribution centers (RDCs)-Swindon, Nottingham and Newcastle, operates nearly 600 stores of varying size and employs over 20,000 full time equivalent staff. This report outlines a brief introduction of Savastores and presents the strategic and practical issues and assessment of the situation of Savastores. What is more, the paper also gives some advices on how to execute their espoused strategy effectively and practically in the management of Savastores.

3.0 The Practical Issues in Savastores
At the present time, there existed lots of issues in the human resources management of some big superstores, which has severely hinder them for further development. So, these chain stores has to acclimatize the developing tendency of the modern human resources management by virtue of their advantages, applying effective measures, strengthening human resources management, and so on. The following points are the main issues existing in the Savastores’ human resources management.
