摘要:为了生存而聚集到某个集体的人们,成为了公司人。词典将公司定义为商业组织。本文选取了一家新西兰葡萄酒搜索引擎公司和一家中国公司,分析公司的“健康与人身安全”、“组织文化”、“性别”和“领导”四大因素,从中解析公司文化的社会背景。

ly refer to people engaged in work or employment but protecting co-workers, family members, employers, customers, suppliers, nearby communities, and other members of the public who are impacted on by the workplace environment. What's more, a safe and healthy work environment also goes beyond physical harm and includes the mental and psychological harm caused by things like anxiety, harassment, verbal abuse or discrimination (Occupational safety and health, n.d.). So health and safety issues must be the first issue that people take into consideration. A company, no matter if big or small, should try their best to make employees, customers and co-workers feel at home and at ease. This may be one of the premises of success.

 

In my opinion, the New Zealand company does well in this aspect. Wine-searcher's work environment is very quiet, where people can do their own jobs without disturbance, but in the lunch room people can talk with each other as they like. There also have a microwave oven, toaster and dishwasher and offer free coffee in the rest room. People can bring their own plates, forks and cups here to enjoy their breakfast and lunch, just like home! Staff here gets a high pay and a bonus if they really do something perfectly. Furthermore, they have legal holidays and one month per year to relax. As I am a newcomer, there is one thing that impressed me most and that is the manager never abused me even if I made a lot of mistakes in one day. She just said 'it's ok, you will do better next time.'

 

By contrast, I never thought those kinds of things could happen in my Chinese company. When I was working there, no room was prepared for us because there was need to do that. We were not allowed to rest until it was time to leave. Moreover, if you made so many mistakes, there was no chance to correct them. You would be fired fast. Because of the amusement place, we worked in a very noisy environment, got not a good salary and sometimes had to work on holidays. However, few people complained about that. They have little consciousness about occupational health and safety. What they know is the more they work, the more money they get. It's a pity but we have to admit it's the current situation for most employees in China.

 

Issue two: Organizational Culture

 

As far as I am concerned, organizational culture is the soul of a company. From a detailed view, it includes employees' dress and behavior. Thinking broadly, it determines how much a company can achieve and what contributions it can make to the society. Besides, the organizational culture pulls all the people in a company together to fight and persist when troubles come. Sometimes it is powerful for people to say 'never give up'.

 

To tell the truth, the first time I went to the company wine-searcher I really didn't know it was so famous and authoritative in the area of wine. I dressed casually that day to have the interview with the manager.
