摘要:Since the reform of English teaching has been ongoing in China up until now, some Chinesestudents still cannot get rid of such embarrassing phenomenon that even though some studentsare quite good at reading, writing and translating, they find that they have trouble in expressingthemselves in the target language successftilly when communicating with native speakers afteryears of English learning.

Conclusion


The present study has explored the overall frequency of using OCSs among non-Englishmajor students and reached some findings, but it is far from perfect. There are several limitationsfor this study.
Firstly, the type of the strategics listed in this questionnaire is not inclusive andcomprehensive. Only partial CSs are employed, for some other strategies are hardly found inChinese students' speech data and thus omitted in this study. Therefore, the study can not revealthe whole picture of the use of CSs, and then a future study needs to be conducted to investigatemore various CSs.
Secondly, the qualitative data from the interview can not typical and representative in thisstudy, for not enough statement was reported among the specific interviewees. And the reasonsoffered by small amount of interviewees might not contribute to a further understanding of thedifferences of using CSs among non-English major students for this study. Thus it makes thisstudy simpler than it has to be. And "it leaves us unaware of how that problem manifest itself inan individual" (Cohen, 1987).
Thirdly, the subjects in this study just come from only one university with small amount, soif more subjects from other universities could attend the study, the findings will be moreconvincing.
At last, the study only concentrates on student's use of CS in L2 oral production, but it doesnot involve the writing production strategics. The production strategies in the use of CSs includeoral and writing aspects, but the study just demonstrates onefold side of the result.
