Chapter 5 Results and Discussion
The main purpose of this chapter is to present of the findings of current studyto answer the three research questions postulated in Chapter One. This chapter isorganized into two sections. The first section deals with the quantitative analysis ofthe participants’ performance on the pretest and post-test. The second section reportsthe results of the data gathered through the questionnaire from both quantitative andqualitative perspectives.
5.1Answer to Research Question 1
The writing pretest was employed to evaluate the participants’ writing abilitybefore and after the Recitation-imitation writing training. The findings of the pretestwere used to set the baseline for comparison and to help interpret the findings,especially if any improvement or differences occurred at the end of the experiment.Descriptive analysis of data was employed to get an overview of theparticipants’ performance on the pretest. Table 5.1 below shows the average scores ofthe 73 participants on the pretest. Both groups were at the same level of CET4 writingproficiency.

Conclusion
This chapter concludes the
dissertation. It is formed by four sections. The firstsection summarizes the major findings of the present study; second section presentsthe implications of the study for English writing and its applications to writinginstruction. Section three describes the limitations of the study. Finally, section fourproposes suggestions for future research in second language writing.The present study was conducted to examine the effects ofRecitation-Imitation Training method from memetic perspective on EFL students’CET4 writing and to describe their attitudes to this teaching method. It employed amixed method design: a quantitative framework to access the students’ writing abilityat the beginning and at the end of the pedagogical intervention, and a qualitativeframework to explore the students’ attitudes towards the training. The followingresearch questions were examined in this study.
