If leave the production activities between manufacturing enterprises and consumers to the third party logistics companies, those enterprises could much easier deal with the complex relationship inside and outside their companies. After employment of third party logistics services, the former one-to-many relationship (one enterprise has to face many consumers) has become to one-to-one relationship (one enterprise only has to face one third party logistics company). ( C. Johnson James and F. Donald Wood. 2001) Those manufacturing enterprises could avoid the direct contact with numerous consumers, which is so complex. They predigest the relationship network, and this helps those companies input more resource to the key activities (that is producing products). So the competition capability of these manufacturing enterprises would have improved.
In the modern economics, the changeability of market has strengthened; the need of the market has represented new characteristics, those are individuation and diversification. Because the speed of technique innovation has become faster, and the lifecycle of product has shortened, the competitions between enterprises have become more and more intense. The market competition focuses on the function and product and the service quality, and even the invention speed of new product, never the old competition on product cost. The pressure for these manufacturing companies has become much heavier. The pressure mainly from controlling stock cost and logistics cost, improve service proficiency for consumers, and service quality. Because of the limitation of capacity, technique and professional management level, logistics operated by manufacturing enterprise itself (they mainly depend on the inner self-service in the organization to achieve a series of logistics activities, from purchasing raw material to product distribution. Such management model is logistics operated by manufacturing enterprise itself) become more and more out-of-date, it cannot fit the competing market. These factors compel manufacturing companies to corporate with the third party logistics enterprises. ( Saddle River, 2001) On the other hand, depending on the excellent logistics management knowledge of the third party logistics enterprises, benefit of system effect, and the scale effect of the third party logistics enterprises, (Sankaran J. and Z. Charman 2000) the management of the third party logistics enterprises may become the third revenue headspring for various manufacturing enterprises. And so these producing companies would greatly decrease their logistics cost and stock cost, on the other side, they increase the turnover rate and capital cycle rate. Other benefit of employing the third party logistics is that the competition district becomes larger, from certain district to the whole world.
