There are many methods to get to the aim. The first one is to pay attention to studying and gathering. Just like a saying goes: many a little makes a mickle. The second one is to acquire the method of word structure, which can help the learner to enlarge their vocabulary and to memorize them. For example, compound words: headline(标题),impatient(不耐烦的), self-control(自制), affixed words: comfort(n)→comfortable(adj), interest(n)→interesting(adj). The other ways contain to memorize words by sorting the words into different kinds. Just as the words about the family relationship: family, relation, neighbour, master, guest; professional relationship: teacher, director, engineer, chemist, manager, president. There are other kinds about the weather,subject,sport, interest and so on. For our Chinese student, I think the method to memorize words assisted with the Chinese sentences, which can achieve twice the result with half the effort.
