本文是一篇英语阅读论文,本研究采用定量研究和定性研究相结合的方法,挑选广州市荔湾区某中学八年级两个平行班,实验班采用基于云共同体的文本解读教学模式,控制班则沿用常规英语阅读教学模式。
Chapter One Introduction
1.1 Research Background
Important topics in the teaching research and practice of China’s primary and secondary schools include changing the methods of Education, focusing on the development of students’ core literacy, deeply interpreting the teaching materials, and developing innovative teaching methods based on core literacy. Reading literacy is the focus of three main international education Assessment projects: Progress in Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS), the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), and the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA). The English Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education (2022 Edition) recommends that teachers cultivate students’ core literacy in English and conduct English instruction based on theme context and discourse, which embodies the concept of people-centered education. Reading instruction is an integral component of English instruction and the key to developing students’ core literacy in English. Therefore, the importance of cultivating students’ English reading literacy is self-evident.
Since China’s Reform and Opening-up, the Ministry of Education has continuously deepened quality-centered education and teaching reform. In 2014, the Ministry of Education devised and released Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening the Curriculum Reform and Implementing the Fundamental Task of Building Morality and Cultivating People, which introduced the concept of core literacy system for the first time. Following this, Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, and other provinces and cities adopted the New College Entrance Examination format. In the process of reform, there have also been changes in the question types of the English subject’s college entrance examination papers in addition to changes in score distribution. For instance, the National English College Entrance Examination has replaced the Single Choice section with the Five out of Seven and Text Filling sections.
1.2 Research Objectives
The preceding research background demonstrates the necessity of cultivating junior high school students’ English reading literacy, while empirical research on developing junior high school students’ English reading literacy is relatively limited. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the effect of implementing text interpretation teaching based on the cloud community in the English reading class in order to determine whether it can enhance the English reading literacy of junior high school students. Specifically, this research seeks to investigate the following two facets. This study seeks to examine the impact of text interpretation teaching based on the cloud community in junior high school English reading classes on the English reading ability of junior high school students. In addition, the purpose of this study is to assess its effect on the English reading character of junior high school students.
The second objective of this study is to further investigate text interpretation strategies based on the cloud community and to develop a teaching model for text interpretation based on the cloud community.
