摘要:本文是英语阅读论文,笔者认为紧迫的任务是建立阅读教学模式,以适应新教材的教学,促进师生共同发展,改变以教师为中心转变为以学生为中心,教师在其中扮演的角色是指导者、组织者andassistors。因此,建立以学生为中心的互动学习模式是高中英语教师的一项重要任务。

thesis is to employ the interactive reading model to the reading class to overcome the disadvantages ofthe traditional reading teaching method, make students as the center in teaching, improve the efficiency ofstudents’ learning, stimulate students’ learning motivation, improve students’ reading efficiency and the ability of autonomic reading. This thesis also has the same objectives, and it can be achieved by thefollowing steps.

Chapter Two Literature Review
2.1 Definitions of English Reading
Reading is one of the most complex processes which include inactive process, purposeful process, andcritical process. Linguists and psycholinguists hold different ideas about reading. According to K. S.Goodman, reading is “Reading is a receptive language process. It is a psycholinguistic process in that itstarts with a linguistic surface representation encoded by a writer and ends with meaning, which the readerconstructs. There is thus an essential interaction between language and thought in reading. The writerencodes thought as language and the reader decodes language to thought” (Goodman, 1967:128). Andersonthinks: “Reading is the process of constructing meaning from written texts. It is a complex skill requiringthe coordination of a number of interrelated sources of information”. (Anderson N J, 2000:124-128).Reading is an active process of comprehending and the students need to be taught strategies to read moreefficiently (Clark and Silberstain, 1977:169).In all, reading is truly a complex process which requires the readers’ brain should keep active and inhigh-speed, because during the process of reading they should combine the new textual information withthe prior ones which have already stored in their brains. A successful reader should keep in mind that thekey point is to decode the writer’s meaning and get the right answers to the question, and this process canimprove their linguistic competence and their reading ability are developed. Actually, reading is a processof communication.

2.2 Studies on Reading Teaching
Anderson(1983) sees reading as an interactive process of constructing meaning by connecting oldknowledge with the new information included in the text. Hood(1996) regarded reading as an importantmeans, by which scholars can learn information, acquire new language skills through reading. Carrel(1988)argued that reading is a complex interactive process of comprehending within language, and concerns withmany reading skills and different readers as well as texts. Smith(1979) considered that sampling waseffective in reading for the extensive redundancy built into natural language as well as the abilities ofreaders to make predictions and inferences from their existing background knowledge.Many scholars in China make research combine the reading model and reading teaching attempt todiscuss the best method that reading model adapt to English reading teaching.
