4.1 Overall English Reading Ability of Senior High School Students
To answer the first research question “What is the overall English reading ability of senior high school students?” this subsection focuses on a summary and analysis of the mastery of the cognitive attributes behind the subjects’ scores obtained through the DINA cognitive diagnostic model. This leads to an analysis of the development of students’ overall reading ability.
4.1.1 Overall students’ score
This subsection will analyze students’ overall performance to see how well students develop their English reading abilities. Table 4.1 lists the two classes’ overall cognitive diagnostic test scores. Each question was scored as one point, with one point for a correct answer and no points for an incorrect answer. The mean, standard deviation, median, plural, maximum and minimum scores of the overall student performance were calculated after the 105 students’ scores were tallied.

5.1 Major Findings
This study uses the DINA cognitive diagnostic model to investigate senior high school students’ knowledge of the cognitive attributes of English reading. Three research questions were explored in this research.
1) What is the overall English reading ability of senior high school students?
2) What are the students’ abilities in terms of the eight cognitive attributes according to the diagnostic results?
3) What are the differences in English reading ability between key and non-key classes?
