Introduction

Purple Cabs is the leading taxi company in Melbourne and has plans to expand their operations to other cities in Australia. Prior to doing this, they wish to establish an information system that will allow them to manage their taxis, their clients and payments for their services. They are also interested in increasing the security of their drivers. They have decided to call the system the Purple Integrated Taxi System (PITS)

Purple Cabs is well aware that such a system would not be able to be built in one stage and thus they have broken down the implementation of the system into several stages. Purple Cabs is also concerned about the feasibility of the project, so your brief is to design a simplified initial version of PITS, which over the next 13 weeks will include as major deliverables: a requirements model, a user interface prototype and a system model.
