摘要：In light of current situation，the present study plans to investigate morpheme "-ing"attrition of Chinese EFL learners, hoping to unveil features of morpheme “-ing” attritionand generate useful findings to complement language attrition study.

Chapter Two Literature Review

This chapter will first introduce the definitions of some important terms referred to inthis thesis. In the second place，related studies on morpheme acquisition, morphemeattrition，and morpheme "-ing" both at home and abroad will be presented. After that, abrief summary will be given.

2.1 Definition of Important Terms
Due to different research angles and respective research purposes, scholars didn't giveidentical names to the same language phenomena. Therefore，it is of prior necessity toclarify some important terms which will be referred to frequently in this thesis.

Conclusion

Since Conference on Attrition of Language Skills was held in 1980，language attritionresearches have continued to prosper for three decades. However, research in this fieldtaking Chinese context into consideration is rather limited.
