6.1.1 Analysis of Pre-test Score
After the experimental preparation,a vocabulary test(see Appendix 1 for the test paper)was administered to the students in the control and experimental classes of the eighth grade,and the results of this test were used as the pretest scores.The test scores were analyzed bySPSS.The results are shown in the following table.
According to the results obtained from the analysis of Tables 6-1 and 6-2,it is evidentthat prior to the teaching experiment,the mean scores of the control and experimental classwere insignificantly different.Specifically,the control class outperformed the experimentalclass by a marginal difference of 1.93 points.Furthermore,the mean scores of both classesdid not significantly differ from each other.Levene’s test for the variance equation in the T-value test findings of the pre-test scores of the two classes generated a p-value of 0.069,which was greater than the significance level of 0.05.Consequently,the test results areconsistent with the hypothesis that the data of the pre-test scores of both classes had equalvariances,indicating that the pre-test scores of both classes were similar with no substantialdeviations.In addition,the Sig.(2-tailed)value is 0.48.It is greater than 0.05,resulted in theacceptance of the null hypothesis.This finding indicated that the pre-test scores of bothclasses had no significant deviations,affirming that the teaching experiment could proceedsmoothly in both classes.
Chapter7 Conclusion
7.1 Major Findings
This study is based on the current situation of English vocabulary teaching.Itinvestigates the domestic and foreign literature on“mind maps”and“cooperative learning”.Based on the essence of excellent scholars’research,it constructs a mind mapping modelbased on cooperative learning and integrates this model with junior high school Englishvocabulary teaching.
After teaching practice,the final research conclusion is as follows:
