摘要:本文是一篇初中英语教学论文,笔者主要采用问卷调查法、测试法和访谈法进行定量与定性相结合的研究方法,并以武汉市Y中学八年级两个平行班级的学生为研究对象,开展了为期三个月的教学实验。

本文是一篇初中英语教学论文,本篇基于语块这一理念的优势,采用英语写作与语块化教学相结合的形式,探索语块化教学在初中生写作中的应用模式及对学生英语写作能力的影响。

Chapter 1 Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study

The English Curriculum Standards precisely state that the overall goal of the Englishcurriculum at the basic education level is to develop initial comprehensive language skillsthrough English learning,promote mental development,and improve comprehensivehumanistic literacy.Among them,writing,as an important productive skill,plays afundamental role in the comprehensive use of English ability.Thus,the importance ofteaching English writing is evident.The writing skills required in the English CurriculumStandards suggest that students should be able to write short essays that are well-structured,fluent,grammatically accurate,and logically appropriate based on the information materialsand topics provided.Also,they are required to use at least two tenses and construct essayswith at least 80 words.

However,there are many problems with junior high school students'writing.In the totalscore of 120 points in the English test,writing occupies 15 points.As junior high schoolstudents with high school entrance examination pressure,they have high expectations fortheir writing scores.But the fact is that students'learning methods are clueless and teachers'teaching methods are relatively rigid.As it is very difficult to improve writing literacy,it is abig challenge for teachers and students.Therefore,both sides have adopted a relativelynegative attitude toward English writing.It is not hard to see that there is a relatively highproportion of scores in English writing,but the degree of attention is relatively low.Forexample,in the process of writing English sentences or arranging the overall structure of theessays,many junior high school students are more inclined to use simple informalvocabulary.And Chinglish expressions are also quite common in their articles.At the sametime,junior high school students also have problems such as less vocabulary accumulationor improper grammar use in their usual writing training.Especially,junior high schoolstudents,who have poor independent learning ability,write English just like mechanicallytranslating Chinese into English.They cannot output what they have learned and cannotflexibly use the words they’ve learned in their compositions.(Wu,Fengjun,2018).

1.2 Purpose of the Study

This thesis mainly starts from the actual advantages of lexical chunks teaching in juniorhigh school English teaching,puts forward specific programs of lexical teaching based onthe current situation of junior high school English writing,and then obtains correspondingteaching reflections from the effectiveness of the results.Junior high school teachers canmake scientific use of lexical chunks teaching to store lexical chunks in students'brains witha holistic form,so as to effectively solve students'collocation errors,unclear logic,and otherwriting problems.And junior high school students can quickly extract the languageknowledge they have stored in their minds when writing.In this way,the word-for-wordtranslation can be avoided to a certain extent and students'writing efficiency can beimproved.In addition,it can avoid irregular and Chinglish expressions,thus helping juniorhigh school students to form scientific and efficient writing habits.
