1.2 Significance of this thesis
      This  thesis  intends  to  study  American  slangs  from  sociolinguistic perspective, and  attempts  to  relate  slang to  gender  in  American  English community by adoption of quantitative and qualitative methods. The study is undertaken to  find  out the  relations between  language and  gender  from socio-cultural view to  verify  Social  Construciionism 'Theory  Sapir-  Whorf Hypothesis. and to improve cross-culture communication between nations
