摘要:Oral English plays a vital role in the international contacts and communicationsin today’s Information Era In order to meet the social demand, the Ministry ofEducation of China has promulgated the Basic Requirement of English Education inVocational College in 2000, which requires students in vocational colleges to be ableto communicate easily with each other in English in their daily lives. However, manystudents in vocational colleges have very poor oral English for lack of enthusiasm andconfidence in oral English study, due to their weak foundation or inappropriateEnglish teaching and learning methods..

The author states the researchobjective, research hypotheses, research instruments, research procedures, datacollection and analysis, etc. After comparing and analyzing subjects’ scores in oralEnglish tests, questionnaires and the interview, the author finds that the learners in ECguided by the experimental teaching method of metacognition perform much betterthan those in CC.In Chapter Four, the study results and discussions are revealed. According to thequantitative, qualitative analysis of post-test and analyses of questionnaire, interviewand class observation, the students in experimental class changed their attitudestowards oral English study, their oral English expression.The last chapter summarizes the major findings of the study, and puts forwardthe implications and suggestions to College English translation teaching. And in theend, the limitations of this study and suggestions for future study on vocationalcollege English teaching were given.

After the research on metacognition in vocational college oral English teaching,many findings and implications of the research were to be concluded, followed bylimitations of the research

 

5.1 Major Findings
In view of the whole research process of metacognition, a lot of advantages andmerits of metacognition have been found and the major findings are presented asbelow.First of all, the most dramatic finding is that students who made use ofmetacognition have shown a great improvement in oral English. Students in theexperimental class, after being educated for a semester, were able to speak moreaccurate English words and express their ideas in English. Though a few of studentsstill spoke English with many grammatical mistakes; the majority students werecapable of speaking English in a relatively appropriate manner and improving theiroral English ability greatly, which was contributed to the functions of metacognitionin oral English teaching classes.. the post-test result proves that after students inexperimental class studied oral English under the guidance of metacognition for onesemester, the educational concept of metacognition played a more effective andpractical role than the traditional teaching method in terms of oral English teaching 论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
