5.1 Present Situations of Students'Critical Thinking Abilities

During the pretest stage of the experiment,a questionnaire that contains 28 basicquestions about students'critical thinking situation based on the form CTDI would beconducted,with the aim of learning about students'critical thinking abilities in Senior Two.

The data for the questionnaire was sent to 250 students in Senior Two,who had alreadyhad a year of study experience,were familiar with the questionnaire format,and were able tocomplete the questions independently and objectively.

5.1.1 Present Situations of Emotional Dispositions

The emotional dispositions can be divided into seven following aspects:truth-seeking,analyticity,open-mindedness,self-confidence,open-mindedness,maturity,and systematicinterpretation.To learn more about present critical thinking dispositions,an analysis of eachrespect would be presented in concrete tables of figures gradually,and also relativediscussions would be attached to the following texts.

(1)The truth-seeking in the form of CTDI

First of all,the scores of 250 students in the aspect of truth-seeking are gathered andpresented in Figure 5.1.We can learn that the average score of the aspect of truth-seeking is3.9,and most students'scores are from 4 to 5.

6.1 Main Findings

This study conducted a 12-week teaching experiment in Grade 2 to confirm the influenceof students'critical thinking abilities on their Continuation Task.The main findings of thestudy are as follows:
