摘要:独立学院英语教学的过程中,它是非常重要的,教导学生学会如何学习,认知能力和元认知策略,为学生实现他们的目标是至关重要的。

on in China is facing the challenge of transforming traditional teacher-centerededucation into student-centered education. College English Curriculum Requirements (2007)gives priority to language learning strategies requiring students to improve their strategies oflanguage learning for the development of their self-study ability and learner autonomywhereby they can monitor and regulate their own learning, autonomous learners are expectedto take greater responsibility for their own learning. Therefore,learner autonomy has beenmore emphasized than ever before in recent years. In short, there is no doubt that research onlanguage learning strategies, especially on metacognitive strategies of Independent Collegestudents in China could help these students become aware of and identify the metacognitivestrategies which are important to their learning. Under the circumstances, it is necessary toinvestigate the metacognitive ability and metacognitive strategies used by IndependentCollege students.


1.2 Purposes of the Study
Through a survey on metacognitive ability and metacognitive strategies under onlinecollege English autonomous learning employed by Independent College science students inShandong University of Science and Technology, the paper focuses on three questions: thefirst, aims to investigate the general situation of students’ metacognitive ability,metacognitive strategies under online college English autonomous learning; the second,intends to examine the differences existed in the use of metacognitive ability andmetacognitive strategies under online college English autonomous learning between high andlow achievers, the last is to examine the relationships between metacognitive ability,metacognitive strategies and their CET scores among Independent College students.


1.3 Significance of the Study
In the process of English teaching in Independent Colleges, it is very important to teachthe students learn how to learn, and metacognitive ability and metacognitive strategies arecrucial for students to attain their goal. With high metacognitive ability, students will gainknowledge and regulate their learning behavior autonomously. Many studies show that havingcommand of learning strategies can improve learners learning and help learners learn moreeffectively and successfully. However, for Independent College students, most of them are less aware of language learning strategies, which seriously affect their English achievements.As one category of learning strategies, metacognitive strategies are regarded as “essential forsuccessful language learning” (Oxford, 1990: 136).
Online autonomous learning shows higher demands for students’ metacognitive ability,so the effect of autonomous learning has direct relationship with metacognition application. Inthe field of second language acquisition, language learners use metacognition regulating theirplans, controlling their learning methods and processing the knowledge if they want to mastera foreign language successfully, which refers to one kind of metacognitive strategies.Therefore, studies on Independent college students’ metacognitive ability and metacognitivestrategies are very important to cultivate the students’ online autonomous learning ability andto help them promote their learning motivation and autonomy.It is hoped this study would lead to a better understanding of this topic, and help toimprove the English achievement of Independ论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
