摘要:在日常生活中,沟通和激励的行为在我们的生活中扮演着非常重要的角色,但也常常被人忽视。没有沟通我们就无法理解对方,不管对方是想让我们知道。这两者在我们的生活中扮演着重要的角色,这是不容忽视的。

re are people who still think that the money is the number one motivator, they are definitely wrong. It is true that money is important, but if someone doesn't like their job or the way they are treated, he or she would not care how much he or she gets paid pay, that someone still won't like it. In fact, in numerous surveys the number one motivating factor to get employees to perform at their best focuses on appreciation and recognition. While money is important to employees, what tends to motivate them to perform at high levels is the thoughtful, personal kind of recognition that signifies true appreciation for a job well done. The best way to provide recognition and appreciation is through the use of rewards. To make the rewards work, there are certain basic guidelines to be followed as the first step:

 

1. Design rewards based on the individual's personal preferences. For instance, to reward a workaholic with a day off, it could be seen by the employee as, 'What did I do wrong?' instead of a show of appreciation as it was meant to be. To really understand what is important to each employee it's essential to get to know each and every employees well and to find out what they think are important rewards from their point of view

 

2. Rewarding for achievements - Rewards should be based on what was actually done. For instance, if someone has given you an idea that has saved you money, that person should get a bigger reward compared to someone who just did you a small favor.

 

3. Timing the rewards - Rewards and recognition should be given as soon as possible after the desired behavior. Reward and recognition that come long after the achievement do little to motivate the employee.

 

There are many ways to motivate the employees to excel at their job without increasing their salaries or giving them bonus which is a costly mistake, too many bonus or commission checks get cashed, spend and forgotten just that quickly, which becomes quite meaningless after some period of time. There are 15 motivational factors that I will be mentioning below. Even though there are many more than the 15 factors I mention, from my point of view, these 15 are the most effective and could be commonly used.

 

Recognition - when someone does something well, praise them, where possible praise them in public. Whenever and wherever possible when they have done something well or made an achievement.

 

Training - offer employees the training they need in order to excel at their jobs.

 

Working environment - create the right working environment for the employees to be productive. Create a pleasant workplace and do not kill their enthusiasm with pointless rules and regulations or procedures.
