有话语标记语的教师更加注意对话语标记语的使用。教师说话越多,相应的话语标记语也就越多。女教师使用的话语标记语比男老师的多。年轻教师比年长的教师使用的话语标记语多。
Chapter 1 Introduction引言
1.1 Purpose of the Study研究目的
In recent years, increasing and wide attention has been paid to the study ofdiscourse markers. Lots of scholars do some researches and have made someachievements on DMs from various aspects along with the development of linguistics.However, in past few years most scholars have only devoted to the DMs of students inlanguage learning, and they fail to pay attention to teachers’ MDs in language teaching.Therefore, there are a growing number of studies on the students DMs in languagelearning and studies on teachers’ DMs in language teaching are rare.So the purpose of the present study is to find out whether teachers tend to useDMs in class and also find out the influence of different types of DMs. Thus, thefollowing questions should be answered in this study:What DMs occur?

What DMs have negative influence on students’ understanding?Since studies in this field are overlooked by most scholars, the present study is todraw scholars’ attention to the studies on the teachers’ DMs. And teachers can payattention to the use of DMs in class and use DMs appropriately or efficiently.
1.2 Significance of the Study研究意义
There are lots of variables which will affect the use of DMs, such as age, gender,position, the time of teaching, education background. The different variables may havesome impact on teachers’ use of various DMs. This study can fix people’s eyes on theteachers’ DMs, which may affect students’ understanding or the class management. Andit also can raise teachers’ awareness of the use of DMs in their class. Teachers shouldhave the knowledge of DMs in order to use DMs appropriately so that students makelittle efforts to understanding what teachers say. Teacher may learn something aboutdiscourse markers in order to use them appropriately in class. Therefore, it can be usedas a guide for teachers to teach in university classroom. Teachers should pay muchattention to DMs, some of which may have a negative effect on the students’understanding and should be gotten rid of, and some of which may influence the classefficiently and teachers can use appropriately in their class in future.
1.3 Layout of the Study论文布局
This
thesis is composed of six chapters. The main structure is organized as follows.Chapter One is the general introduction to the thesis, and the description of thepurpose and significance of the present study.Chapter Two is a review of the previous studies of DMs. This chapter mainly talksabout the study in this field at home and abroad from different approaches:coherence-based approach, grammatical-pragmatic approach and relevance-theoreticalapproach. At last there also presents the previous studies about teachers’ DMs inclassroom.Chapter Three is about theoretical background of this paper. It consists ofterminology and definition of DMs, functions and features of DMs. Then relevancetheory is the theory the paper applies to.Chapter Four consists of two parts. The first is research procedure which iscomposed of research questions and subjects and
