摘要:The research purpose of the paper is to prove for the writers that nominalization is atool for grammatical metaphor under the framework of functional grammar, and to find thecorrect use methods of nominalization and the differences of nominalization use methodsbetween foreign language learners and native speakers.

Conclusion


To writing speaking, the teachers mainly pay attention to how to respond to what thestudents have done. The response to nominalization writing, and the most important task ofthe teacher are the followings: It will consider the level of individual attention, one-to-onecommunication of nominalization which is rarely possible in the day-to-day operations of aclass, and it plays very crucial role in stimulating and encouraging the students.In the paper, the teacher wants to provide writing comments on error corrections andnominalization. and the work would be very efficient if it uses right method, but it stillremains little agreement to nominalization on what kind of marking is efficient. Leki (1990)investigated the influences of teacher comments and error marking on nominalization. andconcluded that “the research results have been inconclusive, sometimes contradictory, orsometimes not so accurate”. So the teachers should carefully be responsible for thenominalization writing of the students.
If we do not require the students* compositions by marking it according to our ownmental image of the Ideal Text to which the composition expects to be consistent, we willcompare the compositions to other ones which are corresponding to the students' intentionsin the given nominalization writing. So when responding to the students* nominalization writing, we considered that L2 eteachers should suppose that their learners already knew a lot about language andcommunication of nominalization. This is a crucial hypothesis of nominalization which israrely made in the pedagogy of L2 writing instruction on nominalization. Rutherford (1987)contends that the learners should bring with them some concepts of how language works andunderstand how the communications can be organized by nominalization.From the research mentioned above, we believe the phenomenon of nominalization hashigh value in English writing and the correct use of nominalization plays an important role inEnglish writing. So if we pay more attention to its correct use. our English writing level willbe greatly improved and the English compositions will have more value to read.
