t will not be a subject of the present study.As is mentioned in chapter one, there are two topic goals for the present study:The first one is to discover the features of the interpersonal meaning of parent-childconflict talk from the perspective of mood, modality and person systems. The secondis trying to mediate or avoid the conflict talk between parents and children. In thepresent study, the author will mainly focus on finding out the features of theinitiation of the parent-child conflict talk and try to kill it in the bassinet. In thefollowing section, three parts will be covered, the study on contradiction vsstatement, disclaimer vs question and refusal vs command.

This chapter will give a general closure to the present study. And three partswill be covered in the following. They are major findings, both practical andtheoretical implications and limitations of the present study. At last, the suggestionsfor future study will be provided to perfect study of this kind or similar kind in thefuture.This paper focuses on the study of the interpersonal meaning exchanged inparent-child conflict talk from the perspective of mood, modality and person systems.The 114 pieces of conflict talks between parents and children analyzed in this paperall comes from the first four seasons of the famous American family comedyModern Family. At first, there is the process of organization, classification, countingand calculating the essential elements of mood, modality and person systems. Afterthat the author summarizes the features of the distributions of the above essentialelements and what kind of interpersonal meaning is exchanged through what kind oftool. After a thorough and detailed analysis, the major findings turn up.
