Conclusion


There are two major findings in this thesis. Firstly, the traditional classroom teachinghas characteristics of humanized interaction and systematic efficient knowledge which canbe complementary to the network teaching. The latter serves as a medium to solve thenetwork information explosion which may lead to learners trek problems. Network foreignlanguage teaching with its rich language learning materials and virtual open learningenvironment compensate a lot of inconvenience in the traditional language teaching.Therefore for the first research question, the multimedia web-based teaching andtraditional teaching are not either this or that, but rather complementary relationship.Secondly, the most effective teaching mode is the integration of web-teaching andface-face teaching mode. For the second research question, the higher vocational Englishlearners are accepted by blended teaching mode actively and they have positive attitudetowards blended learning.
In this study, there are still some limitations which can not be avoided. FirstlyStanford English is only one kind of computer software, and it does not represent all kindsof web-teaching mode. Secondly, the students’ improvement in oral English can not betested. The experiment would be more complete if the participates’ oral English could beincluded.Also the author has some recommendation for future research in this field. Firstly, therole and the function of the teacher in web-teaching should be developed further. Secondly,the development of English network sources should be taken through computer technology,such as cloud computing etc. And make computer technology to serve the foreign languageteaching and learning.
