Conclusion


In recent years, many researches have shown that language learning strategiesare becoming more and more important in language learning. Reading strategiesrefer to methods and techniques which are used to improve the readers' readingcomprehension. Hence researches on reading strategies are of great importance inlanguage teaching and learning. Students feel it is difficult for them to learn Englishwell in senior middle school, especially in reading. As a result, it is necessary andimportant to do some researches on the students' use of reading strategies in GradeTwo of senior middle schools.
The author talks about the students' use of English reading strategies and theteachers' teaching strategies in English reading which will influence the students'using of reading strategies in the senior middle school. And the author alsointroduces the related theories: language learning strategies, reading and readingstrategies. The author makes a survey, does some observation and interview beforeanalyzing the collected data. According to the analysis,some main problems inEnglish reading strategies among senior middle school students have been found asfollowings: (1) The frequency of using reading strategies is not high in Grade Two ofsenior high school. (2) The students have some reading habits which are not good fordeveloping their reading strategies. (3) Unknown vocabularies are difficulties inreading. (4) The teachers do not pay enough attention to the reading strategies in theteaching of reading. (5) There exists some wrong conception. The author discussesthe causes of these problems and puts forward some possible suggestions to improve them. It is expected that English teachers and students in senior middle schools willpay more attention to the use of reading strategies and skills. Finding the mainproblems in English reading teaching and learning is important for teachers toimprove students' reading competence. Students can learn to adjust the properreading strategies to solve the problems after teacher's guidance and encouragement.Then they can develop their abilities to find and solve the problems by themselves.
Some solutions and suggestions are not mature and needed to be improved inpractice and there are some limitations in this research. As is mentioned in the lastchapter, further research and improvement should be made in the future study.
