摘要:Prior researches have reported that teachers abroad or at home are forced byincreasing burnout, which is threatening the quality of teachers’profession and life, aswell as the overall education. More and more people, such as educators, psychologists,teachers themselves or even ordinary citizens begin to realize the importance ofpreventing and alleviating teacher burnout.
ⅤFindings and Implications
5.1 Findings
Based on the data analysis and information collection above, it is found thatEnglish teachers in senior high school have low level of burnout in general; theyexhibit high level of burnout in the dimension of emotional exhaustion, but have lowlevels of burnout in the dimension of depersonalization and reduced personalaccomplishment.From the results of the questionnaire, we get that English teachers in senior highschools experience low overall level of burnout. Male teachers, teachers under 30years old, teachers with master degree, teachers with 0-5 years of teaching experience,teachers work in model school, teachers in town, teachers work as non-head teacherand teachers with superfine title are demonstrated to experience higher level ofburnout compared with other teacher group or teacher groups in the same individualvariable. And there is a significant difference between the burnout levels of teacherswith middle title and teachers with junior title in the overall burnout level. Teacherswith junior title have significantly higher level of overall burnout than teachers withmiddle title. Professional title is a factor influences the overall level of burnout.

Conclusion
In this paper, an investigation on the current burnout situation of senior highschool English teachers has been done. In detail, the data is collected and analyzedfrom the overall level and the three dimensions of teacher burnout: emotionalexhaustion, depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment.In the process of the study, questionnaire and interview are used as theinstruments of the investigation. The questionnaire includes two parts: personalinformation involve 8 variables and revised Maslach Burnout Inventory-EducatorSurvey with 25 items. The interview includes 5 questions about teachers’ concreteattitudes and performance of burnout in the three dimensions of teacher burnout.In the part of data analysis, the software SPSS 18.0 is adopted. With its functionsof descriptive statistics, Independent T-Test, One-Way ANOVA analyses and MultipleComparisons, some tables are formed to provide concrete information.After the analysis, findings of the investigation are stated: English teachers insenior high school have low level of burnout on the whole; they exhibit high level ofburnout in the dimension of emotional exhaustion, but have low levels of burnout inthe dimension of depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment. And it isfound that some individual factors have influence on teacher burnout and should betaken into consideration. In the end, some implications to help senior high schoolEnglish teachers prevent or alleviate burnout are put forward according to the analysisand findings of the investigation.
