摘要:本文是一篇高中英语论文,笔者认为提高每个学生的口语能力和表现是一个长期的过程。学生是学习的中心,需要与起指导作用的教师协调。教师需要积极转变传统的教学观,实施灵活的教学方法,组织各种口语活动,有效提高学生的综合学习能力。此外,教师应努力激发学生的积极性和主动性,使他们能够积极参与英语口语训练。
本文是一篇高中英语论文,笔者认为虽然目前的研究存在局限性,但主要发现也可以为未来的研究提供一些建议。首先,可以进行新的研究来调查自我调节学习对英语口语学习的影响。从目前国内外的研究来看,这两个概念之间存在相关性。此外,由于学生对策略的运用存在差异,如何促进他们更有效地使用策略还有待进一步研究。
Chapter One Introduction
1.1 Research background
As the most widely used language, English is popular in global for academic and educational purposes. As regard to English teaching in Asia, some teachers may have a narrower understanding of attaching importance to literacy rather than oracy in English learning and teaching. What’s more, even equipped with a communicative view of oracy, some may neglect the significant role of spoken language as a means of learning(Hui & Shi, 2016). English Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools has noted that “the ultimate goal of English curriculum in basic education is to develop students’ integrative capability to use English”. It elaborates the oral skills that students are supposed to master from 6 to 9 levels. In this context, both students and teachers are facing the challenge of oral English learning and teaching. However, difficulties appeared in authentic teaching practice. Tong (2018) investigated the situation of senior high school students and concluded that the current oral English teaching isn’t ideal.
Li and Li (2016) analyzed the number of theses studying on English language learning anxiety in the recent ten years. The decrease of oral English anxiety has been approved to be correlated with the improvement of oral English competence. What’s more, Chinese teachers’ self-efficacy plays an important role in influencing their teaching practice in spoken English(Z. Chen & Goh, 2011). The washback of teachers’ low self-efficacy kept them from trying and seeking for useful methods to improve their knowledge of oral English instruction. Many researches have been conducted to seek effective methods to improve students’ oral English learning.
1.2 Research purpose
Based on the current research, the objective of this research is to explore the effects of metacognitive self-regulation strategy towards senior high school students’ oral performance.
According to this purpose, this thesis tries to answer the following two questions:
1. After the strategy training, to what extent has senior high school students’ application of metacognitive self-regulation strategies in oral English learning been improved?
2. After the strategy training, to what extent have senior high school students’ oral fluency, accuracy and complexity been improved?
