      机会平等意味着一个群体的社会成员应该享有的平等权利的东西或实现某些目标,不论目标是否最终实现。Equal opportunity means that the social members of a group should have the equal rights to enjoy something or to accomplish some objectives, no matter whether the objectives are beyond their reach or not.

      随着劳动分工越来越细微,工业化进程的加快,社会成员的地位不仅体现在水平差异方面而且在垂直的一个方面。因此,它是要在一个社会里,它可以提供给那些想要获得一个公司或集团进一步发展的平等机会均等的原则很好的使用有意义的。With the labor division becomes increasingly subtle and the rapid process of industrialization, the social members’ status are embodied not only in terms of horizontal differentiation but also in aspects of vertical one. Therefore, it is meaningful to make good use of the principle of equal opportunity in a society in that it can provide equal rights to those who want to gain further development in a company or in a group. In addition, the principle of equal opportunity plays a fairly important role in sustain the stability as well as development of the whole society. However, what we need is not the stability that is actionless, but the stability that we can pursue in the process of developing. Only we have accomplished could we achieve the real stability. There are three main contribution to the development of a group, as are listed as following. At the very beginning, the equal opportunity principle plays a positive role in the course of establish a balabusinessnced social system. Among the whole scope of the society, the equal opportunity is helpful to select the talents with inborn gifts the society really and urgently need, at the same time, to exclude the ones who has perfect gifts in some aspects but naturally bourgeois, which is of great significance to impel the fluxion of the talents much healthily and orderly, so as to reduce the pressures and contradictions of the society and, meanwhile, to maintain the society to be balanced and vigorous. Second, this principle is crucial to stabilize the social awareness and social psychology of the members in distributing the wealth of the whole society. As we know, in a society with equal opportunities, the differences of wealth distribution are formed, to great extent, because of different competition of the group members. While in a society with no equal opportunities, it is mainly dominated by some compulsory factors, either directly or in directly. The equal opportunities can counteract the sense of being exploited or pressed so as to keep the whole society or group stable and prevent from social crisis or convulsions. Third, the equal opportunity principle is propitious for the social member try their best to be established in the upper ten, which makes the social developing full of energy and vigor. From my point of view, the differences of social members’ status are caused by two factors: inborn status and acquired status. The inborn status depends on the race, gender, family background and some uncontrollable characters which the members themselves can not select to change. While that of managementthe acquired status is changeable, because it is not on the basis of one’s birth but the acquired striving and hard work, and it also requires personal abilities and achievement. Generally speaking, the society can stimulate the members study hard, down-to-earth, advance with times and, what is more, obtain a higher social status. Those may be the main contributions of the equal opportunity principle to the personal development.
