On the cont rary , because the st ruggle exhort s " black is beautiful" and " black power" , a series of world like " black English " , " black history" , " black nationalism" , " black studies"come to the t rend , which adds solemnity to the word " black" . This paper has emphasized the intimate relationship be2 tween English vocabulary and social development f rom three aspect s : the development of English vocabulary is paralleled with that of the society ; the meaning of English vocabulary changes because of factors arising f rom the social develop2 ment ; a large number of new English vocabulary come into being in modern timesith the development of human socie2 ty. What should be pointed out is that as part of the society , language will be developing ceaselessly in the long course of human society , so will the English vocabulary.
