2.2 Accents and Dialects 
Accents  and  dialects  are  two  different  forms  of  a  language.  It  is  necessary  to distinguish  the  two  terms  so  as  to  have  a  better  understanding  of  the  influence  of dialects or accents on the acquisition of English vowels and consonants. Language  is  a  useful  tool  to  promote  communication.  However,  there  are usually  various  pronunciation  performances  of  the  same  language.  For  example, English has been regarded as the international language all over the world, but it is interesting to find that people from different countries are speaking various varieties of  English,  and  even  people  from  the  same  country  often  have  different pronunciation performances of English.  Some people may feel confused about accents and dialects.
