摘要:本文是英语语言学论文,根据沈阳英语学习者的学习现状,作者从语言迁移、教学方法和学习策略这三个角度分析了发音偏误的原因。其中,语言迁移是造成发音偏误的最主要的原因。

1)  and  the  second  formant  (F2)  are  very  useful  in  identifying  a  vowel, therefore, in this thesis, the author analyzes and describes the features of vowels with the help of the frequencies of F1 and F2 which can be collected in the research. The  above  tables  and  figures  show  the  monophthongs  produced  by  Shenyang English learners compared with the corresponding data of American speakers. Based on the above data, the author will analyze the features of all these monophthongs one by one.  From Figure 5 and Figure 6, we can see that some points almost overlap, which shows that Shenyang English learners can produce these monophthongs almost the same as American speakers.The points which do not overlap and are even far away from each other tell us that there are some differences between SELs and ASs when they pronounce the corresponding monophthongs.

Conclusion 

This  chapter  will  summarize  the  major  findings  of  the  study,  expound  the implications  and  limitations  of  the  study,  and  provide  some  suggestions  for  further studies. The purpose of the study is to find out  the features of vowels and consonants produced by Shenyang English learners. After the study, the author finds that SELs can  master  the  pronunciations  of  several  vowels  and  consonants  relatively  well, including  /i:/,  /u:/, /ei/,  /d/,  /g/,  /m/,  /h/  and  /j/.  They  can  pronounce  these phonemes almost as ASs do, perhaps because of the positive transfer of Chinese. There  are  many  deviations  in  SELs’  pronunciation  of  vowels.  They  tend  to pronounce /i/ like /i:/, perhaps because there is /i/, a similar sound in Chinese Pinyin and Shenyang dialect system. When they pronounce /e/, they tend to put their tongue in a much lower and slightly more back place.SELs pronounce with their tongue lower. When SELs produce /ɑ:/, they tend to put their tongue in a more back place. SELs pronounce /with their tongue in a slightly higher and much more back position. As for the pronunciation of /u/, SELs put the tongue in the right height but a bit  more  front  than  ASs  do.  In  addition,  SELs  tend  to  pronounce  a  little  more unrounded /u/.
