摘要:论文的第一章是一个简单的介绍,涉及到本文研究的目的和意义,同时本文的大体布局有所规划,根据介绍,读者对本文可能会产生一个基本的印象。变形一词本出自于希腊语,而形态学则是语言学的一个分支,尤其是形态学中的词汇学,它研究词的内部结构和规则,比如有一词多义,这也是属于形态学中语法的一个分支,它侧重于对结构和形式的研究,形态学的本质则是构词法。
The last type of constraints is syntactic factors. A basic type of syntactic constraint on morphological productivity is the 'lexical category' (Plag, 1999, p.217). For different prefixes, they have their own preference of attaching what kind of word class, nouns, adjectives or verbs.
For the prefix pre, it combines adjectives most, then verbs and at last is the adverbs. Ante is attached adjectives and nouns for the most. From the statistics, it is not hard to find that it combines verbs and adverbs sometimes. On the contrary, verbs are the favorite for fore but not adjectives and follow the verbs.
In general, adjectives are on the top list of the parts of speech for the three prefixes except for fore, which take nouns at the first. Although verbs and adverbs are both take a little percentage in this, they do attach to the three prefixes. Basically speaking, there is not a forbidden word class for those three prefixes to attach. It is just a matter of preference.
4.7 Blocking constraint
Blocking is usually referred to two distinct kinds of phenomena, the non-existence of a word form is due to the existence of another competing synonymous form, and the other is the non-existence of a complex formation is due to the existence of a homonymous form. Before 1970s and 1980s, blocking is still an immature and imprecise without a solid theoretical background. Blocking will be affected only in discourse text which has the feature of synonymous and non-synonymous interpretations.
Two kinds of blocking are constraint the morphological productivity. The first one is token block and the second is the type block. Aronoff defines blocking as 'the nonoccurrence of one form due to the simple existence of another' (Bauer, 2001, p.136). Synonymy and homonymy are the two main reasons for blocking to come up with a new word. Steal is a verb; however, due to the emergency of thief, we seldom use stealer to illustrate the meaning of 'someone who is stealing'. This is always referenced as token block. There is an Elsewhere condition for this situation. When we come up a new word, it may be blocked because of the concurrency of another word.
Homonymous blocking is frequently talked, but the practical meaning is reduced by some circumstances that a word may not be blocked if it occurs in a proper pragmatic context. Planker has proved this point by various examples that homonymous blocking does not supply a satisfactory status. Homonymous seems to provide an assumption about those unaccountable blocks. In a wider point of view, homonymy blocking is 'only one of the many phenomena that functionalists seek to explain by evoking a universal language principle of ambiguity avoidance' (Plag, 1999, p.50). Therefore, homonymous blocking could not explain that why some cases language admits an irregular use and should suggest another way of using. As a matter of fact, homonymy blocking could be seen as a solution of a mechanism whi本论文由英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写,英语论文代写,代写论文,代写英语论文,代写留学生论文,代写英文论文,留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
