Captain Ahab described by Melville and fisherman San Diego described by Hemingway are both classical images of individualism. They reflected two types of individualism spirit around us. Facing doom by table out of independent consciousness and tenacious spirit, they became representative character of United States literature heroes (Deng Yanchang, 1991).
