1. INTRODUCTION
We have a number of events rise or fall, such as the "name brand" goods, "recommended products", the best-selling books, celebrity, and so on; all are associated with the operation of the mass media and its real intent (Debord, 1970). That is the power of the mass media. This is the great reality of the modern life from the mass media, which is a strong power system that it is irresistible for us and we can not escape from it. It expels the survival inherent nature out of our activities, but at the same time we will be dragged into the reality that is intertwined by the fear and joy. The mass media has been the formation of a kind of institutional system (Debord, 1970), what people can do, and only want to do is how to win the favor of the mass media, how to go directly to the media system, in order to be able to become a media power’s image of the product. In other words, in today's time, no matter how specific scenarios and objectives are, people are always more than ever eager through the mass media and the media system to gain evidence of the existence of their own.
The existence of such a media power shows that our life and times of the basic state of existence. While we understand that in a wide range of media power under the rule of the past the so-called "autonomy" and "libertarian" or "creative survival", have become a kind of Decorative things dominated by the technology and the mass media (Foucault, 1974). in the media system, people has already lost the value sensitivity and effective judgment, and can only be satisfied with the technical superiority of the system's high degree of faith, and indulged in the consumption advocated by the mass media. But in another cases, we can see the opposite side that the media can not control the audience, but the audience can decide what they want to see from the media.
In order to explain this phenomenon this paper aims to analyze media’s power from the theories of power and spectacle. Foucault’s discourse of power and reversibility of power and Debord’s power distribution and visual demands can be used to discuss the situations above. Then cases are taken to analyze the view.
