Professional report about an issue pertaining to business ethics or CSR

OPTION 1
You are a newly appointed ethics manager working in a large retail and investment bank in the City of London. You were specifically brought in by the only female board director to work on the following issue:
In recent months, the financial services英国开始论文代写 sector has been accused of engaging in practices that heavily discriminate against women. A report by the Equality and Human Rights Commission found that financial services are dominated by a “macho” and “lads” culture which seriously hampers the opportunities for women seeking a successful career in the sector. For example, a number of women said that they were routinely excluded from important informal networking events with clients, as these more often than not take place in lap-dancing clubs, hostess bars and other ‘men only’ environments.
Other women have reported that they had to endure denigrating sexist remarks by their male managers and colleagues, and female bankers who become pregnant would often face redundancy. In a widely reported court case, a female employee of an investment bank sought compensation for being bullied over her working hours, which had been adapted to allow her to look after her disabled child, despite hitting her performance targets. (This happened whilst one of her male colleagues facing a similar situation was treated more favourably by the bank.)
Furthermore, women are found to be vastly underrepresented in senior positions in financial institutions and there is also a substantial pay gap between men and women, much higher than in other sectors of the economy.
Your bank has not been specifically mentioned in these reports but the board director is worried that some of these behaviours might also happen in your institution. You are asked to write a report setting out what the bank could do to address the issue of gender discrimination and harassment.

OPTION 2
You, an independent corporate responsibility adviser, have been called in by Smith & Johnson, a UK-based medium-sized listed company that sells hard landscaping goods, to advise them on the following issue. A few years ago the company began to import a particular type of garden paving stone as a cheaper alternative to the traditional product sourced in the UK to meet customer demand. Their main supply comes from Country Y, a developing country in which the majority of the people live in abject poverty.
On the whole, Smith & Johnson have been happy with the quality of the imported stone and the suppliers have shown themselves very forthcoming in drawing up arrangements to guarantee the supply. About a year ago, however, one of Smith & Johnson’s directors came across an NGO report documenting the widespread practice of employing children in the quarries of country Y, even though child labour is officially illegal in Y. A significant number of these children are thought to be no older than 10 and they would often work without protective gear.
Worried about the findings of this report, the director instigated an audit of his suppliers’ quarries and found that there were indeed children working there. He asks you to write a report setting out how the company can effectively address this issue in their supply chain.
