摘要:作为高中学生的第二语言,英语,目前中国CEE起着关键的作用。英语阅读测试中东欧地区占了很大一部分,老师发现难以提高读取性能。

languagerecognition was thought more highly than affect in teaching theory. Those researchesalways focused cognitive latitude to constrain optimization in exploring problem butless affective latitude of the corresponding research (Lu Jiamei,2000). Although inrecent years the researches into the affective factors have increased, these studies tend totake the dichotomy methods to have an isolated study of language input or affectivefactors, in which the researchers haven't paid enough attention to the study ofcombining the affective factors with language input. Researchers isolate the wholeinfluence of affective factors from the process of language learning and their mutualrelationship.Based on the Krashen's Affective Filter Hypothesis and affective factors (motivation,attitude, anxiety, self-esteem, etc.) in SLA, the author of the dissertation tries to analyzesome possible affective factors which would influence English reading achievements ofmiddle school seniors while they are doing English reading comprehension so thatteachers can find some countermeasures to improve their students' reading ability.


1.2 Purpose and Significance of the Present Study
English, as the second language for senior high school students, plays a key role inpresent Chinese CEE. As for the English reading test which accounts for a large part inCEE, the teachers find it difficult to improve the reading performance.Therefore, this study aims to explore some affective factors that will influencereading comprehension based on Affective Filter Hypothesis. Students' motivation,self-confidence and anxiety in reading comprehension test are discussed in thisdissertation.
Due to the restriction of the study angles, there is much blank space in researchingaffective factors on English Reading of Grade Three Students in senior middle school.Therefore, the author makes use of a kind of dialectical understanding system to theconcept and characteristics of affective factors by the theoretical and empirical studiesthrough the way of combing, analyzing, optimizing and organizing existing AffectiveFilter Hypothesis and its related research results.(1) Theoretical Significance: the author hopes that this study could have theepistemological and methodological significance on affect research field. The studymay help the researchers have more comprehensive understanding and awareness of theaffect of middle school seniors in English reading. Thus it may optimize the dynamicrelationship between affect and English reading process, as well as widen the field thatAffective Filter Hypothesis can be applied.(2) Realistic Significance: The study may give some enlightenment to English teachingin China's high school so as to improve the quality of the English teaching and promotethe development of harmonious relationship between teachers and students. Afterwards,the study happens to give some suggestions to teachers and students on how to improvetheir students reading comprehension ability.
