摘要:In general, the purpose of this study is to try to observe the process of the development ofimprovement in reading comprehension by using portfolio assessment as recorder tool and micro geneticapproaches. And we try to investigate the correlations between the employment of the reading strategiesand proficiency of the reading comprehension and explore the difference in employing the readingstrategies between the female learners and male learners.

students’ own language knowledge, mastery of vocabulary and grammar, is a solid foundationof English reading, the tradition way of teaching vocabulary and grammar seems to dull and complicated.If the strategy of memorizing vocabulary could be achieved during the process of reading, the learner’sinterests in remembering the vocabulary and understanding the grammar would be improved. Meanwhilethe teacher should try to analyze the composition of words towards the students and they should reviewand consolidate the grammar knowledge learned and make analysis of the new syntax phenomenon, theefficiency of the reading and memory can be improved accordingly.
There is no doubt that knowing how to use effective reading strategies is essential to improving thereading proficiency. Teacher should analyze the student’s different characteristics, exploring their strengthsand shortcoming during the reading to help them choose the most suitable and effective strategies. Theteacher shouldn’t not only make learners recognize the importance of reading strategies but also makethem form the good habit of a variety of reading strategies, and then incorporating the reading strategy intoclass teaching.
In order to stimulate students’ enthusiasm over reading, the choice of the reading material must fittheir current level at initial stage. In addition, the informative and interesting of the materials should betaken into consideration. Besides, the teacher should set some activities concerning on the reading, such asbuild reading portfolios, discussion to make learners learn reading strategy in relaxed and pleasantatmosphere.
