Chapter Two Literature Review
This chapter provides a general review of the literature related to the study and consists of threesections. The first section discusses the related concepts. There are children’s literature and readingcomprehension. The second section consists of the related studies in children’s literature and readingcomprehension at home and abroad. The third section presents the summary in this chapter.
2.1 Related Concepts
A series of dazzling beauty of children's books have been published, on display at the bookshop.Many children can happily find the books they want, and then let yourself involved in many bookspublished. However, some children may ignore the old book of children's literature, fresh and attractive onehundred years ago.Many children's books published a long time ago, is a classic and still deserves theattention of children.So Sutherlandand snooker, (1991) claimed that 'age is not guarantee excellence of abook, also is not the meaning of the regent', and to encourage people to 'look into the eyes of the past andthe modern and views to the accumulated wisdom of the past now'.If people read classic children's bookshave different point of view, old books can inspire new reflection.So the importance of the old children'sbooks should not be ignored but many new children's books is overwhelming.When people study the effectof children's literature, the development of children's literature should investigate and value.

2.2 Related Studies in Children’s Literature and Reading Comprehension at Home and Abroad
Children's literature is written for children stories and a variety of types.Stoodt - Hill andAmspaugh - Corson (1996) to express the 'children's literature writing concrete considering the child'sinterest and experience' (p. 1).Lynch - Brown and Tomlinson (1993) further definition of 'children'sliterature is of high quality trade books from birth to the child adolescent' (p. 4), and it contains differentkinds of subject and the content is mainly about the childhood experiences of both good and bad.Textcontains various types of children's books, such as stories, plays, and real work (Musthafa, 1994).Most ofthe children's literature text narrative (winch et al., 2001).Children's literature children entertainment,cultivate their interest in reading.The child read a story in order to seek happiness and entertainment (luken,2007).Good novels and short stories draw attention to the student, lets the student participate in conspiracyof suspense (Lazar, 1993).Reading children's literature students into active participants, and reader responseprompt the characters, events and consequences.Reading children's literature stimulate students to think,reflect, question (Hirvela, 2004).The design of children's literature is very different from general textbooksand content.Use of children's literature in the English class has broken the traditional restrictions of foreignlanguage teaching.Textbook is designed for the purpose of instruction (Lynch - Brown & Tomlinson,2008).It emphasizes the guidance of 'reading ability hierarchy and practice requirements fro
